Synopsis B.B. King, the Life of Riley et détails
Né en 1925 à Itta Bena, dans le Mississippi, Riley B. King se découvre une passion pour la musique en chantant le blues lors du travail aux champs. A ses débuts dans la ville de Memphis, Tennessee, le jeune musicien doit faire face à un racisme institutionnalisé, qui perdure jusqu'aux années 60 dans les Etats du Sud. Mais à force de persévérance, B.B. King parvient à convaincre de son talent les critiques les plus exigeants de l'industrie du disque. Dès lors, le succès est au rendez-vous et il joue dans les plus grandes salles du monde. Au cours de sa longue carrière, le roi du blues a donné plus de quinze mille concerts et vendu plus de quarante millions de disques. Il a surtout exercé une influence capitale sur tous les grands noms du rock'n'roll, comme Eric Clapton, Bono, Ringo Starr, Carlos Santana, Slash ou encore Mick Jagger, qui témoignent dans ce documentaire.
